Homestay
Your home away from home
At WorkEnglish, we know that the success of an international experience depends not only on what happens during working hours, but also on where you rest at the end of the day. We don't look for "hotels"; we look for homes. That's why homestay accommodation is at the heart of our program: a unique opportunity to experience British culture from the inside.

Exclusive Selection: Your Safety is Our Priority
Unlike large agencies that outsource this service, at WorkEnglish we maintain a close relationship with our network of host families in Newcastle.
Personal Inspection: We visit each home to ensure it meets our standards of cleanliness, comfort, and above all, hospitality.
Safety Guarantee: All adults in the home have a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) certificate, the British equivalent of a criminal record check, guaranteeing a 100% safe environment.
Work-Friendly Families: We choose hosts who understand the professional goals of the program and support the student's work schedule.
What will your daily life be like? (Logistics and Comfort)
We want you to feel like a member of the family, with the independence you need for your age:
Your own space: You'll have a private room equipped with a comfortable bed, wardrobe, and a desk area suitable for working on your internship journal.
Full Board: You won't have to worry about meals. We include breakfast, a packed lunch, and a hot dinner shared with the family.
Included Services: High-speed Wi-Fi for your studies and to stay connected with Spain, plus weekly laundry service.
3. The "British Dinner": Where English Comes to Life
Dinner or tea time is the sacred moment of British culture. It's here that the EnglishClase immersion becomes a reality:
Social English vs. Business English: After a day using professional language, dinner is the time to relax and practice everyday English, idioms, and general knowledge.
Cultural Exchange: Our families love experiencing life in Spain. It's the perfect setting to strengthen bonds and gain the confidence to speak that you can't achieve in a classroom.
4. Location: Connected and Independent
Newcastle is the "15-minute city." Our host families live in safe, strategic residential neighborhoods (such as Gosforth, Jesmond, and Heaton).
Within easy reach: Excellent tube and bus connections will allow you to get to your placement and the city center quickly and easily.
Your own key: We encourage maturity and independence. You'll have your own key to come and go, always respecting the rules of your British home.

Frequently Asked Questions (Mini FAQ)
What if I have allergies? We inform the family in advance of any medical needs or special diets (celiac disease, vegetarianism, etc.).
Can I stay with a friend? We encourage total immersion ("one Spaniard per household"), but if you are two friends, we can find neighboring houses so you can be close together.
Are there arrival rules? Yes. As this is a professional program, we expect responsibility. Minors under 18 have a set arrival time for safety reasons.
