Who We Are

WorkEnglish is a professional immersion program for Spanish students (ages 16–25). Backed by 15 years of educational excellence through our online Spanish academy, EnglishClase, we bridge the gap between classroom learning and the real world.

Our students aren't just tourists; they are aspiring professionals coming to Newcastle to observe British work culture. We are looking for welcoming, local homes that can provide a supportive "base camp" for these motivated young people.

What We Expect from Our Hosts

We don’t just look for a spare room; we look for a cultural mentor. To maintain our high standards, we ask that our host families provide:

• A Warm Welcome: A friendly, safe environment where the student feels like a member of the family.

• The Essentials: A private, clean bedroom with a dedicated study desk and reliable WiFi.

• Full Board: Breakfast, a packed lunch for work, and an evening meal (the famous British "Tea" time).

• Safety First: All adult members of the household must have (or be willing to undergo) a DBS check.

• Location: Easy access to public transport (Bus or Metro) for the student to commute to their workplace.

What You Can Expect from Us

We value our host partners and provide full support throughout the placement:

• Vetted Students: Every student is personally interviewed by us in Spain. We only send motivated, polite, and English-capable individuals.

• Local Support: We are based in Newcastle during the program. If there’s an issue, we are a phone call away.

• Clear Logistics: You will receive a full profile of your student (including dietary needs and interests) weeks before they arrive.

• Prompt Payment: No chasing invoices. Payments are made directly and reliably.

Financial Contribution

While we seek families driven by cultural exchange rather than just financial gain, we ensure your hospitality is fairly compensated to cover costs and effort:

• £300 per student per 8-night stay.

• Earn up to £2,500+ per summer season (depending on your availability and the number of students you can host).
